A Prayer for You

Lord,

I want to lift up the person reading this right now. You see their heart and know their mind; may they rest in the knowledge that they are not hidden from you.

I ask that your peace and comfort would surround them today. That they would feel your nearness to them as they go about daily life, and trust that they are safe in your hands.

Draw them close Father. If they’ve wandered away pull them back, and if they’ve remained true to your word remind them why it’s worth it.

Light a fire in their hearts that can’t be put out. Fan their spark of faith into a roaring flame, spreading your light and passion for all to see.

I pray that they’ll seek you first in all that they do. That they’ll be sensitive to your leading, and humble to your correction. May they inquire of you again and again.

Remind them that you are not contained to a building on Sunday mornings. Rather, you are alive and active. Your Spirit is sharper than a double-edged sword, and you are moving in their lives and in the world.

May your will be done in their lives today, Lord. I don’t know what that looks like, but I know that it will be for their good and for your glory.

You are a good father, and you love your children. Remind them of that if they’ve forgotten.

Thank you that you are greater than anything that they may be going through and that you are their refuge and strength in the midst of the storm.

Above all, may your name be praised in their hearts, minds, and lives today.

Amen
