Father,
Thank you for another beautiful day that we get to wake up and love others. Thank you for the cool morning air, and the life that the sun brings with it. Thank you for another day that we get to wake up and enjoy the world you’ve created.
I pray that today our hearts are tender toward those we encounter. May we be quick to listen and slow to speak, always giving others the benefit of the doubt.
Help us to look at our fellow man the way that you do, with eyes that seek out their heart not just their outer appearance.
Remind us that we don’t know what is going on in the lives of others, so we should always treat each other with grace and respect.
Father, teach us that our words carry weight in the lives of others. Show us how to be gracious and caring in our speech.
May today be the day that we stop ignoring the poking and prodding of the Holy Spirit and step out with boldness in our faith.
I pray that we will have grace with ourselves, just as we have grace with others. And that we’ll reapply that grace every hour like sunscreen.
Remind us that we are no more perfect than the person next to us. And praise be to you Lord that your grace and mercy covers our multitude of sins.
May the work that we do today and the words that we speak bring you honour and glory.
Help us to take these twenty-four hours that you’ve given us and use them in ways that bring life instead of stealing it.
You are the creator of the world and the author of today. Thank you for never leaving nor forsaking us. Thank you for your outpouring of love for us. May we reflect that love back to everyone we encounter today.
And through it all, may your name be praised in our lives today, tomorrow, and forevermore.
